Antmee® Amino Silicone Fluids Series

Technical Data Sheet: Amino Silicone Fluids Series (Viscosity 15 – 500 cSt)

Product Name: Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone / Amino Silicone Fluid
CAS Number: 106214-84-0
Chemical Description: Polydimethylsiloxane, bis(3-aminopropyl) terminated

1. Product Overview

This series of amino silicone fluids are clear, colorless to pale yellow liquids characterized by their reactive amino terminal groups. The primary function of these fluids is to act as a reactive intermediate or additive in the synthesis of organic copolymers, including polyurethanes, polyamides, and polyimides, as well as a conditioning agent in personal care applications. The varying viscosity grades listed below allow formulators to precisely control the molecular weight and softness of the final polymer matrix.

2. Typical Physical & Chemical Properties

The following specifications represent the standard range for this Amino Silicone Fluids Series. For specific batch data, please refer to the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the respective viscosity grade.

  • Appearance: Clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid (Visual)

  • Viscosity Grades (at 25°C): 15 cSt, 35 cSt, 60 cSt, 120 cSt, 500 cSt (mm²/s)

  • Active Content: 100 %

  • Density (at 25°C): 0.96 – 0.98 g/mL

  • Refractive Index (at 25°C): 1.405 – 1.412

  • Amine Value: Varies based on specific viscosity grade and molecular weight (mg KOH/g)

  • Solubility: Soluble in common aromatic and aliphatic solvents.

Disclaimer: Typical values should not be interpreted as batch-specific specifications. Minor variations are expected due to normal manufacturing tolerances.

3. Standard Specifications by Viscosity Grade

Please refer to the specific product code for detailed Certificate of Analysis data.

AF-15 (Viscosity 15 cSt)
This is a low molecular weight grade characterized by excellent reactivity and superior penetration. It is highly recommended for surface treatment applications where a thin, reactive silicone layer is required.

AF-35 (Viscosity 35 cSt)
A standard low-viscosity fluid grade. It offers an ideal balance of low viscosity handling and reactive functionality, making it particularly well-suited for use as an additive in polyurethane synthesis.

AF-60 (Viscosity 60 cSt)
A medium-low viscosity grade. This fluid provides a balanced profile for formulators, contributing to enhanced copolymer flexibility without significantly increasing system viscosity.

AF-120 (Viscosity 120 cSt)
A medium viscosity fluid. When used in polyamide modifications or textile softeners, this grade provides enhanced elongation properties and a noticeably softer, more elastic hand feel on fibers.

AF-500 (Viscosity 500 cSt)
A high viscosity grade fluid. Due to its higher molecular weight, this product is recommended for applications requiring durable softness, high-temperature lubricity, and long-lasting conditioning effects.

4. Primary Applications

  • Polymer Modification: Used as a reactive silicone additive in the synthesis of polyurethanes, polyamides, polyimides, and polyureas. The terminal amino groups allow the silicone to be chemically bonded into the polymer backbone via polyaddition or polycondensation reactions, improving weatherability and impact resistance.

  • Personal Care: Utilized as a conditioning agent in hair care formulations (shampoos, conditioners, treatments) to improve combing ease, reduce static flyaway, and enhance gloss and smoothness.

  • Textile Treatment: Effective as a softening agent for natural and synthetic fibers, imparting a smooth, elastic, and anti-wrinkle finish to fabrics while maintaining fabric breathability.

5. Packaging and Storage Information

  • Packaging Options: Available in 50 kg HDPE drums, 125 kg HDPE drums, or 1000 kg IBC totes.

  • Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the original, unopened container under recommended conditions.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Containers must be kept tightly sealed to prevent contamination and hydrolysis of the amino functional groups. Recommended storage temperature range is between 0°C and 35°C.
