1. Product Overview

Antmee® Silicone Oil 350F and 1000F are high-purity, linear polydimethylsiloxane fluids specifically manufactured to meet the stringent purity and safety requirements for incidental food contact and food processing applications. These fluids are colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and physiologically inert, making them ideal choices for use as defoamers, release agents, and equipment lubricants in regulated food and beverage manufacturing environments .

Unlike industrial-grade silicone oils, the Antmee® Food Grade series is manufactured under strict quality protocols to ensure compliance with relevant FDA 21 CFR regulations and NSF H1 standards for lubricants with incidental food contact . They provide excellent lubrication, release, and defoaming performance without imparting taste, odor, or contamination to the end product. The 350F and 1000F grades offer distinct viscosity options to match specific processing requirements, film thickness needs, and application methods in sensitive manufacturing environments.

  • Surface Tension: Approx. 21 mN/m (Low surface tension enables excellent wetting and spreading)

  • Flash Point (Open Cup): ≥ 300 °C

  • Pour Point: Approx. -50 °C (Maintains fluidity at extremely low temperatures)

  • Volatility (150°C / 3h): ≤ 1.5% (Essentially non-volatile)

  • Thermal Service Range: -50 °C to +200 °C (continuous use)

  • Solubility: Insoluble in water; soluble in common aromatic and aliphatic organic solvents

3. Standard Specifications by Viscosity Grade

Please refer to the specific Antmee® product code for detailed Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and regulatory conformance certificates.

Antmee® PDMS-350F (Viscosity: 350 cSt, Food Grade)
This is the global industry standard viscosity for food-grade silicone fluid applications. Antmee® PDMS-350F offers an optimal balance between ease of application (pourability and pumpability) and sufficient film strength for effective lubrication and release . It is widely specified as an anti-foaming agent in food and beverage processing, a lubricant for filling machine slides, conveyor chains, and O-rings, and a protective coating for food handling equipment. The 350 cSt viscosity provides excellent spreading and wetting characteristics while maintaining adequate film persistence for most processing operations .

Antmee® PDMS-1000F (Viscosity: 1,000 cSt, Food Grade)
A higher viscosity food-grade fluid that provides a thicker, more durable lubricating film with enhanced resistance to wash-off and mechanical shear . Antmee® PDMS-1000F is recommended for applications where longer-lasting lubrication is required or where water spray and steam cleaning are frequent. It offers superior adhesion to vertical metal surfaces and provides excellent release properties for sticky food products such as confectionery, baked goods, and meat processing. This grade is also preferred for lubricating slower-moving, heavier-loaded components where a more substantial fluid film is necessary.

4. Primary Applications

  • Food Processing Equipment Lubrication: Ideal for lubricating bearings, chains, slides, guide rails, O-rings, gaskets, valves, and seals on filling, capping, and packaging machinery in food and beverage plants . Its inert nature ensures it will not turn rancid, form gummy deposits, or support bacterial growth like organic oils.

  • Mold Release Agent: Used as a release agent for food molds including baking pans, candy molds, meat trays, and confectionery equipment to prevent sticking without transferring taste or odor to the food product . Provides clean, multiple-release performance without carbonizing or building up on mold surfaces.

  • Defoaming and Antifoaming Agent: Effective as an antifoam in aqueous food processing systems (within regulatory limits under FDA 21 CFR 173.340) including sugar refining, fermentation processes, soft drink production, vegetable washing, and paperboard manufacturing for food containers .

  • Food Packaging and Paperboard: Used as a component in paper and paperboard manufacturing for food contact applications, including closures with sealing gaskets for food containers (FDA 21 CFR 177.1210) .

  • Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Processing: Suitable as a lubricant for tablet press machinery and other pharmaceutical processing equipment where incidental contact with the product may occur. Also used as a key ingredient in personal care products requiring high purity standards.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Certifications

  • Typical Compliance References: Manufactured to comply with the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 (Lubricants with incidental food contact) and may be suitable for use as a component under FDA 21 CFR 173.340 (Defoaming agents) .

  • NSF Registration: Registered with NSF International as an H1 lubricant, approved for use in food processing and packaging areas where incidental food contact may occur .

  • Additional FDA References: Meets requirements of FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives), 175.300 (Resinous and Polymeric Coatings), 176.210 (Defoaming Agent in Paper Manufacture), and 178.3120 (Animal Glue) .

  • Purity Standards: Manufactured to ≥99% purity specifications to ensure compliance with food-grade requirements .

6. Packaging and Storage Information

  • Packaging Options: Available in 20 kg pails, 25 kg HDPE drums, 200 kg steel drums, or 1000 kg IBC totes . Special cleaning and handling procedures are maintained for food-grade packaging lines to prevent cross-contamination.

  • Shelf Life: 60 months (5 years) from the date of manufacture when stored in the original, unopened container under recommended conditions .

  • Storage Conditions: Store in a clean, cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight . Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use to prevent contamination by dust or foreign materials. Recommended storage temperature range: 2°C to 35°C. Protect from freezing (though freezing does not harm the chemical structure, it may temporarily increase viscosity). Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents.
